The Bauorden Germany was founded in 1953. The first „construction camp“ in the history of the Bauorden took place in Münster / Westphalia, with volunteers from the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. Today, the Bauorden organizes each year about 40 to 50 construction camps in Germany with over 500 volunteers. The volunteers come from all over Europe, especially from Central and Eastern Europe, but there are always volunteers from Germany itself, too. Abroad, the German Bauorden organizes about 20 other construction camps and in addition to it, it sends volunteers to the camps of its IBO partners. The camps organized by the Bauorden are supported with grants for food, tools and building materials. Most of the participants are between 18 and 26 years old, however, building camps for seniors and families are organized too. The German Bauorden has its office in Ludwigshafen am Rhein.
